Skye
Mor and Beag Information
When
in Portree
Please
treat the town of
Registration
Open between 7.30
and 8.45 on Saturday morning
Parking
and Registration will take place at the
High School. Turn left soon
after you enter Portree. It will be sign posted. There will be marshals to
direct you for parking. At registration you will be required to sign a disclaimer for event insurance. You will then get your number and a route card. Attach the number to the handlebars of your bike so it is easily accessible. You will then get your electronic dibber for timing.
The
Start Starts are between 9.00 and 9.30.
Your number will be scanned to record your start time and off you
go.
When
deciding what time to go note that:
There is a cut off
time of 14.00 at the junction of the A87 and A850 where the Skye Beag
and Skye Mor routes split.
(You need to average more than 10mph to arrive before the cut off). If
you arrive at this junction after 14.00 you will be directed onto the
Skye Beag route and will not be allowed to continue on the Skye Mor
route.
The finish for both
courses will close at 19.30.
You must arrive at the finish before this time.
On
the Course
All
roads are open to traffic so ride with care. Please allow other traffic
to pass. You must follow the Highway Code.
The Red Cross are
providing first aid cover and there will be a broom wagon sweeping up at
the back.
Food &
Drink
There
will be four stations for food & water at
Staffin – Beag and
Mor route
Uig – Beag and Mor
route
Dunvegen – Mor route Sligachan Hotel – Mor route
They will provide
bananas and tray bakes with water. Be careful when entering and exiting
these stops. Look out for
those behind you and for other traffic.
YOU MUST ALSO ENSURE
THAT YOU START WITH SUFFICIENT DRINKS ON BOARD AND SOME FOOD IN YOUR
BACK POCKET!
IF YOU
RETIRE FROM THE EVENT YOU MUST TELL A
The
Finish
Your
number will be scanned to record your time.
Professional
sports massage will be available for donations to charity.
